2025 Week 16 – Curiosity Opens Doors

My brothers, Jerald Levar Robinson and Angelo T Robinson, have always been my anchors in navigating the world. Where I might hesitate, their outgoing nature often leads us into unexpected and wonderful situations. I've learned so much from them about stepping outside my comfort zone.

Our adventures are always filled with amazing conversations, the kind that leave you buzzing with inspiration and, hopefully, inspire those around us too. We often find ourselves pondering, "What if we allowed our fear to keep us away from everything?" It's a powerful reminder that the richest growth often blossoms in the soil of discomfort. It’s truly remarkable how quickly that initial unease can transform into a profound sense of belonging.

Recently, while we were out capturing some shots – something we all enjoy – we had one of those serendipitous encounters that perfectly illustrates this feeling. A group of photographers noticed us and, with a warmth that immediately put us at ease, invited us into their studio and store.

Stepping into their space felt like entering a haven of creativity. Surrounded by incredible equipment and stunning prints, we instantly connected with these fellow artists. We shared stories, talked about our different approaches to photography, and just enjoyed the shared passion for capturing moments in time. It was an impromptu masterclass in community and connection. It’s a testament to the idea that you can find common ground and connection in the most unexpected places, with people you've just met. It reinforces the powerful lesson we've learned through our travels and shared experiences: that love and acceptance can be found wherever we choose to give it.

This chance encounter with the photographers, facilitated by my brothers' open hearts and willingness to connect, is another beautiful reminder that embracing the unknown often leads to the most illuminating experiences. And as always, bringing these stories and newfound connections back to share with each other only strengthens the bond we share. What if we hadn't allowed ourselves to be open to that invitation? We would have missed out on a truly inspiring moment.
