Week 2 of 2026: Some weekends show up wearing a cape. This one swooped in and saved me.

Week 2 of 2026

My brother Jerald “Levar Robinson” and I had the honor of partnering our brands with Rockwell Dance Academy at the Ford Center in Powder Springs, GA. We set up our little @uncleartcamp corner—part merch booth, part give-back hub, part pop-up art studio. Yes, we sell clothes. But thanks to generous donations, we also get to gift gear to folks who need it. And the real magic? The tables where the brave kids come sit, draw, and color with the Uncles.

They came in squads this weekend—tiny art armies with big imaginations—and filled our hearts to the brim. We laid out coloring books, activity books, how-to-draw books, and stacks of blank paper. Only crayons and colored pencils made the cut (markers + little hands = modern art on everything). We learned—again—that if we start drawing first, they’ll follow. Lead by doodle.

Meanwhile, across the room: a high-energy breakdance battle blasting music, parents cheering, the whole vibe vibrating. And still the kids kept finding us. A few had to be dragged back to the floor because, surprise, they’d won their round and were up next. I started holding their masterpieces like a museum curator until their dance battles were over. Inside, my heart just smiled. Art is still the quiet superpower that settles even the bounciest kid and brings strangers together.

We laughed a ton. We got drafted as caricature artists on the spot—“Draw me!”—and then they drew us right back. Some portraits were impressive; others were clearly designed to make us crack up and chase them around the venue. Mission accomplished.

Truth is, I woke up heavy that morning. Didn’t even want to get out of bed. But those kids flipped my whole mood. I’m grateful—deeply—that I get to make a positive dent in the world and use my God-given gifts in a way that feels this joyful.

Here’s to art, community, and weekends that rescue you right when you need it.
