01 He Gave Me a Speeding Ticket

Week 01 2024 - I started the year off with a speeding ticket. I was calm and honest as the state trooper informed me that the area was a construction zone, and that the newly posted signs made that particular section a 35mph zone. I was headed to Tennessee and was only 15minutes into my trip when it happened. Caught in the wrong, I appreciated the lesson. I understand when life is hoping to teach me something. So, I slow down, take a deep breath, and move forward cautiously. For the remainder of the day trip, I paid more attention to my surroundings. I enjoyed every single moment with patience and appreciation. I pushed my fear of heights aside to peer over the ledges of Lookout Mountain. I was mesmerized as always by the jellyfish tanks in the Tennessee Aquarium. That night, I found myself magically transported through and around Rock City filled with 1000’s of beautiful lights. I made it home that night thankful that I had slowed down. Thankful that a friend had been willing to ride with me and guide me through the journey. Finally, a full day with no laptops or work of any sort. So, for the rest of this year and beyond, I would like to slow down and enjoy the moments. I won’t worry nor focus on the “tickets” or bumps in the road. I want to have dedicated hours for “work” so that those lines are not as blurred as they have been. I promise to carve more time out for me.
