066 – As a Man Thinketh
My father taught us at a young age to mind our thoughts. While the spoken words do have power, I fully believe that our thoughts are even more potent. They are a life force within each of us that travel far as they are the roots of the words we speak. My father, a pastor, would remind us that as a man thinketh in his heart, so shall he be. Those were early lessons in morality and integrity. Thinking the wrong thoughts could be the beginning of great suffering OR open the door to endless possibilities. If practiced, it is something we can control. It’s a gift no one can take from us. Think good thoughts. Think through challenges. Think beyond outrage and hate. Visualizing the end results can let us all know the outcome of bad decisions before we act. It’s uncomforting for me to hold bad thoughts for long. When I begin to let things go, I began to grow as a man. I cleared my heart and mind to make way for the beautiful thoughts and ideas that have now taken root. I am a living example of “As a man thinketh, so shall he be.”
