DAY 068 - Time Waits on No Man

I recently stopped taking freelance jobs. I knew it was time to stop when I felt as if no amount of money could justify the time lost. Outside of being a father and working regular jobs, I am passionate about building my family brands. Everything else feels like a distraction. Time stays around just long enough to be enjoyed by those who will use it. I no longer stress about giving in to a nap or going to bed early. It is beautiful when time allows for such things. DAY 065 – Finding Opportunity

Hiding from yourself and others often means that opportunity will not find you. I have never known opportunity to seek candidates in places where there is no like-minded activity. Everything that I am is a result of me performing and sharing my experiences as well as the results of those experiences. Then something almost magical happens. “Other People” begin to talk and broadcast about their experiences with you. Those words travel almost at the speed of light and go further than we could ever go on our own. They skip across social media and bounce around conversations on Airplanes and circulate through local communities.

DAY 061 – Learn to Love Kindness

Taking revenge even against someone often hurts you more. It takes an incredible amount of energy to think, plan and execute on revenge. You may think, “Oh I would never hurt anybody!” But revenge isn’t always about physically hurting another person. Something as simple as spreading a false rumor can have a butterfly effect that almost always comes back to you. I remember talking with my ex’s aunt and uncle and said somethings about my brother. In a matter of days I found myself three states away in a driveway at night having to explain myself to my brother! I’m thankful for that lesson. It taught me firsthand to learn to love kindness.

DAY 050 – Building Legacy

Our legacies can be summed up in one brief statement. If You Do Something or If You Don’t Do Something You Will Be Known for That. I talk a lot about what I’m doing, but if you follow my journey, you will find that I do 10x more so that my actions greatly overshadow my words. I let my team know that we may not fully reap the benefits of the work we are doing. I want everyone to be ok with setting up foundations and sustainability for the next generation.

DAY 047 - Mom Says Our Eyes Are Bigger Than Our Stomachs

Growing up in a 10-family household was interesting. Especially with 6 boys. We would always take more food than we could eat because with that many brothers there were never any second helpings nor left over food. So, when we would get full and still have food on our plate, we were made to sit there and eat it (unless you could convince a sibling to eat it for you). Mom would calmly say “Your eyes are bigger than your stomach. You are wasting food.” As a small business owner, I often treat projects the same. Clients offer money and in-kind rewards, and it becomes so hard to say no.
