DAY 091 – Don’t Run from Disappointment
I’ve heard several say that you should never expect anything and that way, you will never be disappointed. BUT you SHOULD expect much for yourself. You SHOULD visualize your future and move as if the things you expect are on the way. The disappointment only hurts ego but that doesn’t kill you. If someone makes a commitment to you or is employed by you, then you SHOULD fully expect them to do what they say they will do. Successful businesses are built on trusting and expecting team members to do what they are supposed to do. On the chance that you don’t get what you expected, you deal with it and move on. I was once one of those people that tried to do everything. When I became a leader of family businesses and a manager in corporate America, I had to learn to delegate in order to get things done on time. Maybe it’s about control or even a little insecurity, however, disappointment is a part of life that only makes us stronger while shaping and molding super productive teams.
