DAY 053 Your Experiences Make You Who You Are

I often talk to those that I mentor about their experiences and how they shape who they are. When we are young, we often make bad decisions based on several factors including fear, peer pressure, and ignorance. As a manager, I often have employees confide in me about things that are not necessarily work related. Early in my career, one particular employee was struggling with life and self confidence at one point and my response begin with “you are a beautiful and smart woman….”. She stopped me mid-sentence and told me she did not care about her being beautiful. She asked me what that had to do with anything.

052 – Mistakes are Only Steppingstones

Problems are not to be solved so much as they are to be experienced and in experiencing the things that challenge us the most, we come across multiple solutions. In the tech space, we learned to document each occurrence so that those coming after us have a guide moving forward. We call them bibles. Through this process mistakes simply become steppingstones.

DAY 051 – Move Without Limits

I fully believe that we should move forward through our lives as if there are zero limits to our abilities. We should first clarify that our abilities are our means and skill to do something. So, I am not saying that I can jump across buildings and slide down walls because my abilities do not include parkour. This is a reason that I believe it is super important for us to identify and develop our skills early in life. Art and Design continues to open doors for me. The sky is not the limit.

DAY 050 – Building Legacy

Our legacies can be summed up in one brief statement. If You Do Something or If You Don’t Do Something You Will Be Known for That. I talk a lot about what I’m doing, but if you follow my journey, you will find that I do 10x more so that my actions greatly overshadow my words. I let my team know that we may not fully reap the benefits of the work we are doing. I want everyone to be ok with setting up foundations and sustainability for the next generation.

DAY 049 – The Life We Lead Will Always Lead Us

I just randomly asked my self “Who gone outwork me?”. Yes, incorrect grammar was used because that’s just how it comes out when no one is watching or listening. I love the ability to motivate myself to stay consistent at working hard and producing content weekly. Experience is teaching me that the life we lead will always lead us. So, I am focused on leading a quality life, doing better each day. I feel myself getting mentally stronger, wiser, and more strategic in my daily decisions.
