DAY 118 – Fighting for Positive Imagery
Mind over matter is such a powerful concept. You can’t have a positive life from negative thoughts. I stopped my self from watching the news multiple times per day or binge-watching shows about jail or crime. So many of my family members are already in and out of institutions. I do not desire for my mind to be anywhere near the thoughts. It’s hard because we are attracted to the drama.
DAY 117 – Faith Without Works is Undone
Belief may be the true beginning of all things. When I believe I assign an enormous amount of faith immediately. I would love to hold these beliefs and this faith in those beliefs and sit and wait for wonders to be performed. But life teaches us all that faith without works is undone.
DAY 116 – Letting Go
The same full glass of water will always weigh the same and is relatively easy to hold, but when you hold on to it for minutes and hours it, gets heavier. That same glass would nearly be impossible to hold up for days and months.
DAY 115 – Through our pain, they see their injustices.
How long must we give them our pain? Our communities are underdeveloped. Our kids are being hunted in schools. Our neighborhoods are flooded with drugs and guns while the world mocks the self-destructive outcomes, as if another outcome should be expected under the same circumstances. I’ve watched families lose 6 figure homes to 4 figure property tax liens. On a larger scale, the entire world watches the pain of Ukrainians, Sudanese and others in warring countries.
DAY 114 - No Excuses
Having nothing is not an excuse for doing nothing. I’ve been told by several close acquaintances that they don’t feel like they can help others because they can’t help themselves. I refused to allow myself to adopt this way of thinking. Without a dime in my pocket, once simply shook a homeless man’s hand and shared my food with him. He told me
