Day 093 – Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
Political activist Francois de La Rochefoucauld is quoted as saying “Absence diminishes mediocre passions and increases great ones...” and I find this to be mostly true. When we lose access to the things or the people we love, we either let go or we fight with everything in our being to hold on. We have to decide if we should move on or stay until we can reunite or resume once time permits.
DAY 092 – Life is Challenging
Let’s just start by saying that life is hard. We are often faced with difficult situations and emergencies that require 100% of our energy and efforts. In those moments, we either focus or fold. I’ve always be a calm natured person. I remember a time when my family ran to get me, and I found my youngest son with his finger bleeding and stuck in a bicycle tire. I’m not sure how long they were crying and panicking around him.
DAY 091 – Don’t Run from Disappointment
I’ve heard several say that you should never expect anything and that way, you will never be disappointed. BUT you SHOULD expect much for yourself. You SHOULD visualize your future and move as if the things you expect are on the way. The disappointment only hurts ego but that doesn’t kill you. If someone makes a commitment to you or is employed by you, then you SHOULD fully expect them to do what they say they will do.
DAY 090 – Hey Big Spender
An old rule that we learned as young adults was to never spend money that you do not have. Then while in college, the credit card companies sent reps to the courtyards. Before we knew it, we had one of each credit card including Discover and American Express and before we knew it, we all had more than just student loan debt. We forgot the most basic financial rule.
DAY 089 – The Power of Forgiveness
The best revenge I have ever executed was and continues to be forgiveness. There is a special power that comes with letting things go. We open ourselves back up to life’s blessings. We empty the nasty from our souls and make room for all the good that the universe has to offer. A gift so powerful comes at no small cost...
