Day 023 - Create the Way by Your Walking
I agree that in life, you have to walk, and create the way by your walking. There is rarely a ready made path designed specifically for your individual journey. Knowing this, I move forward one step at a time with a purpose that’s embedded deep within my being. Much of what I do along my journey is new to me. Processes and task that are sometimes extremely challenging, often requiring that I reach out to my network for knowledge or assistance. I crave the feeling of learning. When a way is not so clear that I can easily run and jump and soar across each step, then I know that I am existing outside of my comfort zone. Then I am accepting my charge to do more and to be more than I had previously imagined.
Day 021 – Forgiveness is Instant Healing
I have had moments where there was so much anger and frustration built up that if I didn’t let go, I would definitely have an outburst. Moments losing loved ones, being laid off from past jobs, and being disappointed by those closest to me have all been horrible experiences. But the one thing I maintain control of, is MY ability to forgive. MY forgiveness can be granted whether I am forgiven or not.
Day 019 - What Do You Deserve?
I have seen enough solar returns to have learned some key lessons in life. I’ve heard so many quotes about what we deserve. The most popular was “You don’t get what you deserve, you get what you earn.” Growing up my mom would tell us “You get what you get, and you don’t pitch a fit.” Maybe she understood that although some people worked super hard, they would still maybe not get what they deserved. As kids we were told and taught that “Life isn’t fair.”
Day 018 - Discipline is Mandatory
One of the biggest challenges that I face daily is maintaining discipline. It can be a heavy burden to manage several brands that include events, podcasts, and web series. There are those mornings where I snooze the alarm for at least two 15min extensions on my sleep [lol!], and weekends when I think to myself, “why can’t I have normal weekends where I watch sports and nap on my couch?” My weekends are spent shooting and editing video footage and planning social media post for the upcoming week.
Day 017 – The Greatest Job of a Parent
I gained an 8yr old son through marriage and had a son that same year. Jumping straight into parenthood was challenging and a beautiful thing all at the same time. I loved the idea of having these little people that I could pass knowledge down to. Over a decade later, I’m still teaching all the while praying that they get at least some of what I’m trying to give. One of the greatest jobs of parents is to leave your children with no excuses.
