DAY 087 – Dream Bigger
We reach a point in life where we realize that the top of the mountain you just climbed is only the bottom of the next. In that moment a separation is created. A hard line drawn between those who settle in comfortability and those who accept challenge and seek higher goals. I was once told that I dreamed to small when I dreamed of making a 6-figure salary. I didn’t understand until I reached that goal at a very young age and realized how small of a mindset I had. First mistake was assigning a monetary amount
DAY 086 – Compliment Someone
Mark Twain said he could live for two months on a good compliment, and I agree. I still thank people for compliments I got months and years ago. I want them to know that in those moments I was at some of my lowest points and with or without knowing, they lifted my spirits and gave me motivation to keep thriving.
DAY 085 – Business is made for the mornings
One of my pet peeves is having my time wasted. My brothers and I often speak of how we get our work done in the early morning hours and often before lunch. This was embedded in us by our father and mother who would wake early 7 days a week. If there was nothing to clean or no where to go, we still got up and got ready for the day. We learned to appreciate having our afternoons free to play and do the things we loved doing. Fast forward a few decades and we still get up early. I tell my people that business is made for the mornings.
DAY 084 – You Can’t Escape Yourself
The pandemic allowed many of us the time to deal with ourselves with limited distractions. I enjoyed the time I had. I learned key things about myself and dove into new-found passions. I built an unscripted digital TV network at 8robinsons.com and now have well over 24hrs of streaming content. It was important for me to use that time wisely. No matter how far you travel, you can never escape yourself.
DAY 083 – Freedom Ain’t Free
We feel free when we escape – even if it be from the fire into the extreme cold. Freedom must then be a mind state. A belief so bold and daring that it consumes and seemingly protects us, even when true freedom is merely an illusion. I love the thought of it though. Spiritual freedom. Financial freedom. Freedom from worry and stress. Sounds like a peaceful state of being. So, I’m working on achieving each of those within my own mental. As a man thinketh, so shall he be and all…
