DAY 077 – Don’t Jump Without a Place to Land
I know so many people who take clips from famous people and apply the words spoken in the 10second bit to their life. A while ago, telling would be entrepreneurs to “JUMP” became a catch phrase / buzz word. I watched and listened to stories of so many people who quit their jobs in order to follow their dreams. Everyone had a plan. But what is quickly learned is that you should never “JUMP” without a place to land. The average entrepreneur is going to need multiple streams of income so
DAY 076 - Pivoting Takes Courage
I have been through several pivotal moments in my career. These days I spend the majority of my spare time producing unscripted tv shows learning as I go. This leaves little time for the web and design clients and projects that I was so well known for servicing. I am finding that it is taking an incredible amount of patience as past clients continue to ask for work and even refer me to others. They make saying “no” very difficult.
DAY 075 – You Can’t Drive A Car Focusing on The Rearview Mirror
It can be difficult letting go of the past. Afterall, it contains elements of everything that made us who we are today. It can be a place of comfort. Where at least we know what we are dealing with and the unknown is relatively nonexistent. But to in order to grow, we have to go and if we are tied down to our old ways of thinking, old people who hold on to us, or old fears that bind us, then failure is surely around the corner. I understand that I can’t drive a car focusing on the rearview mirror. If I am, it usually means I’m going in reverse or spending too much time worried about who or what is behind me. I’m super focused on moving ahead in life and mentor those around me to do the same.
DAY 074 - There is Joy in the Journey
When working on any project in the past, I’m excited at the beginning with all new possibilities. Then it seems that the entire process is filled with stress and worry. Once the project is complete everyone is happy, and a celebration follows. I have learned to enjoy the process. I’ve found joy in the journey. Every single issue becomes an opportunity. These are the moments where I learn new things and even my confidence grows. All the good bits take place during the journey.
DAY 073 – Your Imagination Is the Blueprint to Your Dreams
It is so easy to use our imagination as kids. It flows effortlessly almost 24hrs per day. As I got older, it became harder to tap into that side of me. Introduce a family, jobs, and bills and everything changes. As of lately I’ve seen more of my dreams become reality. I talk with my business partners (brothers) and we recall everything being done as parts of our earlier imaginations.
